I fully agree with the statement of an official of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) warning people against ‘contacting’ the souls of the dead using some tools like Ouija board and spirit of the glass.
Fr. Francisco Lucas, executive secretary of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines-Episcopal Commission on Social Communication and Mass Media says, “games like spirit of the glass to contact the dead are popular during Halloween.” Read more →
The title of this article says it all, that’s why i don’t encourage people to use whatever means of contacting the spirit world.
In a local news of a tabloid Taliba dated October 10, 2011, five teenagers – all highschool students in Sitio Avocado, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City were reported to be possessed by bad spirits after playing the “spirit of the glass.”
The report said, the unnamed teenagers were last seen playing the spirit of the glass eventually turned into a horrifying experience when the kids acted wildly with evil-like voices.
The kids’ parents seek help from the local police and asked the assistance of a priest to cast away the bad spirits.
Locals believed the spirits in the area were being disturbed by the kids during their “spirit of the glass adventure.”
I always warn people especially kids not to contact with the spirit world thru whatever method – ouija board, spirit of the glass, coin, ballpen – or any channeling or mediumship technique to avoid evil possession.
